Limned with hoar frost
an alien geography
speeds past car windows,
a lingering half-moon
fades into the white-blue
sky; this is the day a doctor
will name the articulated
movements a small boy makes.
The naming will stick
long after moon’s demise,
after a cold sun dissolves
the hoary whiteness
into air.
