When the Sky Flumed

               you slipt from night
               a hempen bag
               the morning ran

sacked with the first messy light
it was time you said
time to up and vamoose

              your warm body
              on the loose you ran
              knowing the sun
              would strike
              its light would sting

       your eyes thinking
when you would at the last
            moment zip
       nimbly to the side
              you would
                         seize it

                                by the neck feel
                                its thrashing
                                in your mouth
                                its life shaking
                                up and down
                                your body
